Responses to our questions

Please submit an essay that explains your legal background, why you are qualified for this position and why you seek this position.

In my current position, I am in court on a daily basis, arguing motions or presenting evidence at trial. I am constantly preparing and evaluating my cases for trial with law enforcement, civilian witnesses, and expert witnesses. I primarily handle high-level narcotics offenses, but my caseload also includes murder, armed robbery, and felony DUIs. I believe I am qualified to serve as judge because of my legal and life experiences. I have been an Assistant State's Attorney for DuPage County for 10 years and in that position I have gained extensive trial experience. I have also learned the use of common sense, compassion, and the need for honesty at all times.

As a husband and father, I have learned how to manage my time and to be more tolerant. Finally, I have two years experience dealing with compliance and filing dates which has helped me prepare the skills necessary to successfully run a courtroom.

Tell us something we would be surprised to learn about you.

I am a first-generation American. When I was in High School, I worked as a dishwasher, and in college I installed street signs and repaired potholes.
